OCTOBER 2002 Sir Ernest Hall sets the scene with the story of this project and the roles of clients, patrons and visions. The Independent described Dean Clough Mill as "one of the most remarkable new centres of enterprise and artistic endeavour in the country" NOVEMBER 2002 John Makepiece, furniture designer and maker, will talk about his own work, his clients and some sources of his inspiration. He is noted for the development of his centres for training designer/craftsmen at Parnham House and at Hook Park. DECEMBER 2002 Sharon Kusonoki of the Edward James Trust, West Dean is witing a book on patronage and her talk will refer amongst others, to Roland Penrose, Edward James and Wilfrid and Jeanette Cass. | JANUARY 2003 Dominic Williams, architect, tells the story of the much admired conversion of the Baltic Flour Mills into the Gateshead Centre for Contemporary Art.
FEBRUARY 2003 John McAslan, the architect, describes his conversion of part of Christopher Wren's Royal Naval College at Greenwich to become the home of Trinity College of Music.
MARCH 2003 A presentation in words and music by some of the members of the Brighton & Hove Hebrew congregation. | APRIL 2003 Sir Jeremy Dixon will talk about his restoration of the Royal Opera House.The lecture will be followed by the Annual General Meeting of the Society. Drinks will be served in the Banqueting Room
